Effect of aromatic monomeric derivatives of lignin on the biosynthesis and activity of cellulolytic enzymes from Fusarium oxysporum

The presence of guaiacol and veratrole in the medium inhibited strongly the biosynthesis of cellulolytic enzymes and the saccharification of cellulose. Vanilin appeared to be a strong inhibitor of the growth of Fusarium oxysporum. Addition of cysteine or hydroxylamine to the reacting mixture removed the inhibiting effect of guaiacol and veratrole
