Triticale is characterized by the highest weight of 1,000 grains and oats - by the lowest one. The highest content of whole grain (2.8 mm in thickness) was in Triticale. The Polish Triticale strains contain not much less total protein than oat varieties. The triticale grain contains the highest amounts of albumin, globulin and glutenin whereas the barley grain shows their lowest content. The nutritional value, estimated on the basis of the DBC index in conversion to 1 gram of the grain sample, is distinctly higher for oats
