Influence of sowing density and spacies on winter wheat yields against the background of differentiated fertilization

Results of three year investigations on yielding of winter wheat sown at the rates of 200, 250 and 300 kg of seeds per hectare and in spacings of 9, 12 and 15 cm and fertilized with the NPK rates of 260 and 290 kg (therein 80 and 120 kg of nitrogen) per hectare are presented. The best yields were obtained at the spacing between rows of 12 cm and the sowing density of 250 kg of seeds per hectare. The protein content in grain did not show any distinct relationship with the sowing density and the spacing between rows, revealing, however, a growing tendency along with increasing NPK rate
