Studies on the influence of the fat body on the survival of Eurygaster integriceps during diapause

During 1970-1981, the average fat body in Eurygaster integriceps at the beginning of diapause was 35.06% (33.10-37.25%). The total of fats accumulated at the end of diapause was 27.90% (24.57-36.33%). The mortality of pentatomid Eurygaster during diapause was 29.85% on the average (25.35-37.05%). There is a very close negative correlation between the fat body level and mortality, the correlation coefficient being statistically significant (r=-0,94* ).
