Grass-killers in the chemical weed control systems for sugar beets

The commonest weeds in sugar beet in Poland belong to the following species: Agropyron repens, Echinochloa crus-galli, Setaria sp. and Avena fatua. A large number of various herbicides were investigated in this research. All experiments were established near Wroclaw upon soil containing 2-3 % of humus. The following items were investigated: efficiency of the impact of weeds according to the number and species of weeds per 1 sq m, the control percentage and phytotoxic effects.
