Total ash content of cervico-vaginal mucus during heat and early pregnancy in Jersey cows

The average values of total ash content of cervico-vaginal mucus (on wet weight basis) varied from 0.878 to 0.957% during heat period and from 0.725 to 1.327% during nonoestrous phase and early pregnancy in Jersey cows. The mean value was higher in pregnant group than in nonpregnant group during both oestrous and nonoestrous phases, but the difference was significant (P0.05) only during nonoestrous phase. This parameter was helpful in detecting positive state of pregnancy at 1.076% level
