The researches reported in this paper aimed at solving the following aspects: a) The concordance between the results of testing corn resistance towards the main pathogens (Fusarium monoliforme Sheld., Fusarium graminearum Schw., Helminthosporium turcicum Pass.) under artificial and natural infection. b) The correlation which exists between corn resistance to stalk lodging and resistance to corn cob fusariosis. c) The implications of the pat1720hogen Helminthosporium turcicum Pass., in the phenomena of stalk lodging. Under the conditions of monoculture at Fundulea between 1982-1986, the stalk rot was caused, by artificial infection on the stalk, with the pathogens Fusarium graminearum and F. monoliforme, and with the pathogen H. turcicum. There is a full concordance between the results of the trials obtained by artificial infections especially with Fusarium on stalk and on cob under conditions of artificial infection and natural infection.
