The vegetables grown in the homestead area are mostly creeper or climbing types. They climbed upon bamboo made platform, roof of the house, perennial plant species, detached branch of the tree and fencing of the homestead etc. The perennial plant species classified on the basis of growing i.e., spontaneous and purposefully grown. The spontaneous grown species are mostly fire wood giving, the creeper ie, cucurbites, beans and dioscoria, are climbed upon those species of plant. A survey was conducted at the Farming Systems Research Site. Jamalpur (Bangladesh) to find out the principal of creeper-host association and farmers class specificity of the vegetable. The study revealed that Lagenaria vulgaris, Cucurbita moschata, Benincasa cerifera, Luffa egyptica, Trichosanthes anguina, Luffa acutangula, Momordica charantia, Cucumis sativus, Cochin chinensis, Dolichos lablab, Vigna sinensis etc. are grown irrespective of any farmers class, where as Canavlia ansiformis, Dioscorea bulbipara and winged bean are grown by small farmers only.
