The experiment was carried out in the month of June and July 1986. In this experiment the number of fishes used were 62 Rohu, 85 Mrigal and 50 Kalibaus where the ratio of male and female was 1.5:1 in each of the species. In case of all the species 40% of the females were injected with all male being injected. Spawning success achieved in case of the non-injected females were at 80%, 100%, 100% in Rohu, Mrigal and Kalibaus respectively. The average percentages of fertilization, hatching and survival were 96, 90 and 80 in Rohu, Mrigal and Kalibaus respectively. Waterflow in the spawning tank during experiment was maintained at 1 ft/sec where temperature of water was ranged from 25-26 degree C. Dissolved oxygen and pH were measured to be at 7mg/lit, and 7.0 respectively. Experiment suggests that in a particular time of the breeding season and with particular condition of fish, spawning can be induced sympathetically.
