Reports that spectacular growth occurred in fruit and vegetable production although red meat production continued to decline. Special programmes were instituted in corn and white potato production. Vegetable (cabbage, broccoli, tomato and onion) variety trials were conducted. The new Food Technology Complex was opened and experimental work was done on utilizing new techniques in the preparation of hams and sausages and making a number of vegetable and fruit preserves and banana, cassava, pumpkin and corn flours. The manufacture of feed utilizing imported components and locally obtained poultry offal continued. Veterinary activities include regulation of animal imports, extension, monitoring of disease status and canine control
