Improved agronomic technology on milpa corn production
1975
Cal, J. | Huff, N.R.
In an effort to modify the milpa farming system to produce high yields with the lowest possible increase in production costs, a series of agronomic trials were conducted, designed to demonstrate the profitability of various combinations of 4 common variables: milpa, closer spacing, gesapm and urea. The most profitable system was the combination of milpa, closer spacing and gesapm, which produced a gain in yield over milpa of 1,235 lbs per acre and a profit of $230.00
