1988
Liao Sha (South China Academy of Tropical Crops, Hainan (China). South China Inst. of Tropical Crops)
Results of the experiment showed that there was a significant difference in the contents of main elements and water at their different growth stages. The levels of water and N, P, K, Ca, Mg elements were high at the initial stage of vegetative growth, but as the seedlings grew, they tended to decrease to some degree until the flower began to wither. However, the contents of N, P, K, Mg rose again after the flower withered. But water decreased to the lowest level. Ca content was the third highest after N and K. The content of Ca increased with the development of growth, but the content was relatively steady at the whole period of reproductive growth, and it increased greatly after the flower withered.
