Nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizing of carrots

In eight experiments carried out with Chantenay and Nantes carrots over the period 1968-71 in the Arghaki-Katokopia-Zodhia area four rates of N (0, 63, 126 and 189 kg N/ha) and four rates of P (0, 23, 46 and 69 kg P/ha) were tested. N fertilizing in the range 60-125 kg N/ha was recommended. No response to P was obtained in soils testing more than 8 ppm Olsen P. NP fertilizing did not influence the dry matter content of the roots. Yield of up to 70 t/ha exportable roots was obtained
