The effects of CCC (2-chloroethyl trimethyl ammonium chloride) and etherel (2-chloroethyl phosphonic acid) on flowering and bulb characteristics of Bawku onion (Allium cepa L.)
1977
Otoo, E.
The effect of two growth regulators, CCC ((2-chloroethyl) trimethylammonium chloride) and ethrel (2-chloroethylphosphonic acid) on flowering and bulb characteristics of Bawku onion was evaluated. CCC promoted flowering whilst ethrel reduced flower production. Flower stalk height, seed weight, seed size, bulb size and bulb weight were increased by CCC but reduced by ethrel. Dry matter content of the non-flowered bulbs was higher in the CCC treated plants but lower in the ethrel treated plants
