Isolation of zucchini yellow mosaic virus in Tehran province

Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) was found infecting zucchini squash and cantaloupe plants in certain areas of Tehran province. The virus caused severe mosaic symptoms in infected plants. It was mechanically transmitted to cucurbitaceous plants, causing systemic mosaic, distortion, vein- banding and blistering of the leaves. The virus also induced local lesions in Chenopodium amaranticolor, C. quinoa, C. album, Gomphrena globosa and Nicotiania species
