This study was carried out to investigate the variation if yield related characters with Korean local buckwheat in different planting times from 1986 to 1987. Dates of flowering and maturity in late planting time were shorter than those in early planting time and characters of 1000 kernel weight and kernel setting ration increased in late planting time, too. Number of flowers and kernels were the most in 4-6th nodes and top node. The variation of yield related characters among each nodes were the highest in 4-6th nodes and top nodes and the variation of yield related characters among individual plants showed the range from 20.4 to 84.3 in number of peduncles, from 255 to 1115.0 in number of flowers, from 15 to 120 in number of kernels and from 3.8 to 19.2 in kernel setting ratio. Number of matured kernels was the highest in 56 days for July 11 planting times, 47 days in July 21 planting time and 44 days for July 31 planting time. Growing degree days (GDD) required from planting time to flowering time of local buckwheat was 440-470deg C and GDD required from flowering time to optimum harvesting time were 630deg C in July 11 planting time and 480-540deg C in July 21 and July 31 planting time.
