Serological study of brucellosis in local fowls in northern Nigeria

Preliminary serological investigation of brucellosis in local fowls was carried out on 1096 samples obtained from slaughter slabs in Zaria. The results obtained showed that Brucella agglutinin is present in fowl sera. In addition, cross-reaction between Brucella abortus and Salmonella pullorum in some fowl sera was observed
