Cognizant of the major role of IPM [Integrated Pest Management] in the national endeavor for increased crop productivity through the national development programs, PCARRD [Philippine Council for Agricultural Resources Research Development, Los Banos, Laguna] and in cooperation with the researchers from the different institutions in the NARRDS [National Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Systems, Philippines] conducted research and development programs on 12 crop commodities namely: coconut, corn and sorghum, fiber crops, fruit crops, legumes, ornamental and medicinal plants, plantation crops, rice, wheat and other cereals, root crops, sugarcane, tobacco and vegetable crops.
