Influence of procedure of marjoram (Origanum majorana L.) cultivation on both crop and value of raw material

Investigation proved that direct marjoram sowing to the soil resulted in a considerable higher crop of herb than in the case of planting seedlings. The essential oil content of the marjoram herb obtained by sowing to the soil was however a bit lower if compared with plants grown from seedlings. Moreover it was found that the crop of marjoram was twice high when plants were cultivated on fen soil in contradistinction to those cultivated on lessives
