Mushroom scrap meal contains 14.3% of crude protein with low content of cystine and methionine. Nutritive value of the meal protein, tested on growing rats, was lower by 47 and 30%, resp. comparing to soyabean meal or field pea protein. The crude fibre and ash content in mushroom meal amounted to 15 and 16.5%, resp. Replacing 5-6% of maize, grassmeal or soyabean meal in complete starter or finisher rations by mushroom scrap meal had no effect on body weight of broiler chickens, however feed conversion rate tended to be some lower than in the control groups
