Egg production in geese in two cycles per a year at shortened duration of first cycle

The White Italian geese after the first year of production were allotted into 4 groups (58 females and 14 ganders in each). Spring egg production was stopped by induced moulting on 15 May, 1 May or 15 April. In the preparation period to second autumn laying cycle the daylength was gradually increased to 13 hours of light daily. In the experimental groups during 2.5 years 3 spring and 2 autumn cycles of laying were obtained. The earlier the spring cycle was stopped, the lower was the laying performance and number of hatched goslings in autumn cycle
