No relationship was found between the size of allergic skin reaction and intensity of fungal lesions. Animals infected with T. verrucosum cross-reacted with trichophytins prepared from T. mentagrophytes. Allergic state persisted in convalescent animals after idiopathic disappearance of clinical symptoms
