Carbohydrate digestibility and some biochemical blood parameters of heifers fed with diets containing pelleted feeds

The four groups of Black-and-White heifers were fed with pelleted feeds only or with rations containing different percentage of pelleted feeds. The carbohydrate fraction content in feeds and faeces of animals was compared and their digestibility coefficients were calculated. The highest digestibility coefficients for all nutrients were found in the control group, fed on silage and hay. The ration composition had no significant effect on chemical composition of blood and some blood enzyme activities
