The layer geese and ganders of White Italian breed were fed on rations in which soyabean meal was replaced by ground seeds of field bean, lupine or field pea. The birds were kept for 8 hours of light. Egg laying period started on about 20th February and continued until the end of July. No significant effect of rations on body weight of birds and egg production was found. The lupine feeding negatively influenced the egg fertility. The highest number of hatched goslings was stated in geese fed on rations with soya bean meal and field bean
