Red lead poisoning in swine

An outbreak of lead poisoning among 4,116 pigs fed on whey kept in the container painted with minium. 56 animals died and 273 were subjected to causality slaughter. Lead content in soft tissues ranged from 1.1 to 2.0 mg per wet weight, while the mean concentration in bones was 59 mg per kg dry weight
