The body weight and body measurements of 66 sheep of Polish Longwool sheep, Pomorska variety, were recorded at the age of 8 months. The linear traits and weight were compared with some analogical parameters on the carcasses of these animals after slaughter. The equations relating the body weight and measurements in vivo with carcass composition have been derived. The lean content in half-carcasses can be estimated in vivo on the basis of body weight, forechest depth and width at shoulder joints
