Parasitological and haemotological studies on experimental infection of Parafasciolopsis fasciolaemorpha in sheep

Sheep were infected with a dose of 10,000 metacercariae of P. fasciolaemorpha. The prepatent development of the nematode varied from 28 to 35 days in adults and from 31 to 43 days in lambs. Transient lymphopenia and neutrophilia was observed in the animals, whereas eosinophilia and reduction in total protein content was demonstrated only in adult sheep.
