Four sweet potato cultivars: Travis, Jasper, Centennial and L80-15, with different maturation rates and commercial yield potential were used to determine whether fleshy root numbers and weight gain patterns of roots separated into size classes, according to U.S. commercial grading standards, were different among several sweet potato cultivars and to ascertain percentage dry weight changes at various locations in the plant during growth and development.
