Co-infection of two cowpea cultivars (California Blackeye No. 5 and Ife Brown) reduced fresh weight and leaf area significantly more than did infection by either pathogen alone. More CPMV (the more severe pathogen) and less SHMV were extracted from co-infected leaf tissues than from seedlings infected by either of these viruses alone
