On the basis of the carried out investigations it could be concluded that there exists an extremely positive effect of the Djerdap reservoir formation and the slow flow of the Danube (Yugoslavia) upon the bacteriological characteristics of water indicated by the reduction of number of all living microbes on profiles near the Djerdap Dam. Such a favourable bacteriological situation is also present on the downstream profiles up to the exit of the Danube from the territory of Yugoslavia.
