Roy, S.K. | Biswas, P.K. | Quasem, A.
Aman rice was transplanted with 45 day old seedlings of variety BR-11 at 4 to 5 seedlings hill-1. After 35 days 1, 3, 5, and 7 tillers were detached and replanted in separate plots together with 65 day old seedlings of the same variety as the control. Tillering ability, yield components and yield was studied. Number of panicles m-2 was higher with control and the lowest with 1 tiller hill-1. Number of filled grains panicle-1 was significantly lower with control but no significantly difference was obtained with 1000 grain weight, Grain yield was significantly reduced with the control and I tiller planted hill-1 but there was no significant difference in grain yield with 3 to 7 tillers planted hill-1.
