There is no industry for the manufacturing of chemical fertilizers in Nepal, on the other hand, transportation of imported fertilizers is difficult at higher elevation. Thus, some suitable leguminous plants are being investigated and the effect of GA(3) on their N(2)-fixing efficiency has been studied. Effect of different concentrations of GA(3) on nodulation, nitrogen content, nitrate reductase and nitrogenase activities have been studied on soybean (Glycine max), broadbean (Vicia faba) and pea (Pisum sativum).
