Performance of true potato seed progenies as direct seeded crop

Six progenies of true potato seed were tested during rabi season of 1987-88 to assess their performance and direct seeded crop at farmers field. Among the tested progenies atzimba x R-128-6 gave significantly highest yield (12.5 t/ha) which was closely identical with serrana X DTO-28. Atzimba X DTO- 28 yielded lowest (9-4 t/ha) which was identically similar to serrana X DTO- 33 (9.7 t/ha). However, yield performance was found to be poor compared to on-station result.
