Effect of controlled temperatures: 20, 25 and 28 C + 1 C combined with photoperiods of 12/12 and 14/10 hrs. light dark on the rates of development and duration of generation of Pegomyia mixta was experimentally studied. Temperature and photoperiod considerably affected incubation period, larval and pupal duration of the generation and female longevity. A temperature of 25 + 1C combined with 14 hrs. photoperiod proved to be the most favorable for the development of this insect.
