The present work aimed to study the relative toxicity of six recommended and widely used insecticides, acaricides and fungicides, having different functional groups against the workers of honey bee, Apis mellifera. Residue film technique was adopted throughout the experimental work. Data show that the tested toxicants could be classified into two groups based on their toxicity: the first proved a quick knock-down activity within 5-35 minutes, i.e., deltamethrin, primicarb and pirimiphos-methyl, the second proved slow acting activity within 150-300 minutes, i.e., carbendazim, thiophanate.
