The aim of this work is to obtain a clear idea about behaviour and composition of groundwater in Nile Delta and their effect on soil salinity under present conditions. Data reveal that going down from South of the Nile Delta towards north to approach the sea and Borullus lake, the elevation of the soil gradually decreases, the clay content increases, the salinity of the groundwater increases and the groundwater table rises near to the soil surface. All of these factors affect soil salinity and alkalinity.
