Fruit quality in Roumi red grapes as influenced by the leaf surface area under Sharkia governorate conditions [Egypt]
1985
Tewfik, A.A. (Zagazig Univ. (Egypt). Faculty of Agriculture)
The present work was performed on Roumi red grapevines to determine the leaf surface area required for normal development and maturation of one bunch. For this purpose, different numbers of leaves (i.e. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and untreated control) were left on each girdled shoot bearing one bunch. The obtained results showed that a leaf surface area of about 1100 sq. cms. (10 leaves) is required for normal development and maturation of each bunch.
