Thin layer rewetting model for grains [Egypt]
1988
Shokr, A.Z. (Alexandria Univ. (Egypt). Faculty of Agriculture)
Rewetting does occur in a drying bed and should be considered in deep bed drying models. The main objectives were to develop a thin layer rewetting equations for rice and corn. Six rice varieties and one corn variety were used to run the thin-layer rewetting tests. A thin layer rewetting equation was developed for rice (long and short grain) and corn. Five levels of air temperatures (5,10,15,20 and 30 C) were used. Air relative humidity was kept constant at 95%, and air velocities were (0.1, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 m/s).
