Production and marketing of guinea corn in the Nandom area (Ghana) is discussed. Production follows the slow laborious traditional method resulting in low yields with inadequate use of fertilizers (only 17 % of the farmers apply organic manure, cow dung) and without the use of improved varieties of seed for planting. Production processes are carried out in the diminishing zone of production, and labour is under-utilised. Net return on labour is negative (regression coefficient of labour is - 0.2461) with capital having a positive correlation with output
