The effectiveness of Actellic (pirimiphos-methyl), Dursban 4 (chlorpyrifos), Aldrin, Ekalux (quinalphos), Dieldrin and Gammalin (Lindane) against worker caste termites Pseudocanthotermes militaris was evaluated in the laboratory and field. Toxicity increased with increasing concentration with decreasing efficacy in the order Dieldrin Ekalux Dursban 4 Aldrin Gammalin Actellic over a 24h period. The decreasing order of potency of the insecticides in field over 6 week period was Dieldrin Ekalux Aldrin Dursban 4 Actellic Gammalin
