Elimination of grape vine from Leaf-Roll virus with cultivation of shoot's meristem

Cultures of shoot's meristem from leaf-roll virus infected propagation material of varieties Pinot noir and Merlot were prepared. The aim of the study was to eliminate the virus from the propagation material. Parts of shoot's apexes taken from leaf infected stocks of Pinot noir were cultivated in vitro to achieve rooted shoots. After 5 years of careful cultivation, leaf-roll virus-free productive stocks were obtained from the planted material.
