The average boron content of the 85 plant families that represent the Hungarian natural flora was about 25.4 mg/kg. In the framework of the study more than 7000 analysis were carried out on more than 1000 plant species. The average boron concentration of the 83 species of papilonaceae reflected the average of the Hungarian flora, but that of the gramineae was only quarter of the Hungarian average. The boron content of the 184 and 188 meadow hay and alfalfa samples averaged 11.2 and 43.0 mg/kg, respectively. One can frequently calculate positive correlation between the boron and Ca and Mg content and in melioration and fertilization experiments between the boron and manganese content. Daily ration of a cattle in Hungary may contain wide variety of boron concentration between 60 and 600 mg.
