Cut sprout production (CSP) from small (ca 70g), medium (ca 150g) and large (ca 320g) roots of cv. VSP-3 can be described by the equations Y=0.941X-12.260, Y=0.876x-15.576 and Y=0.723x-13.252, respectively with Y as the number of accumulated cut-sprouts per kilogram of storage roots and X as the number of days from planting. Slicing the roots transversely into half reduced CSP by 33% while fertilization with 30-0-0 and 30-30-30 kg N-P2O5-K20/ha increased CSP by 43% and 46%, respectively. The cut-sprouts and vine cuttings had similar yield performance.
