Influence of nitrogen fertilization on nitrate content of vegetables

Field and pot experiments aiming at determination of the effect of N fertilization rates: 0; 75; 150 and 300 kg/ha for carrot, 0; 50; 100 and 200 kg/ha for white cabbage and 0.34-4.76 g/pot (15.7-286.7 kg/ha) for spinage and lettuce were carried out. Relations between the nitrogen fertilizer dose to nitrate content in soil and indicatory and edible parts of plants were analysed. The performed analysis showed correlation between fertilizing dose and nitrate content of vegetables. The harvest date is very important factor and it must be appointed according to fertilizing date
