Content of sulphur, some heavy metals and macroelements in the assimilation system and their effect on the vitality of fir trees

Morphological traits and increment values of the cut trees were analysed. The content of sulphur, zinc, manganese, and some nutrients were determined in the assimilation systems of vital and weakened fir-trees. The obtained results suggest that the entire fir distribution area has been polluted with sulphur. The chemical analysis of the assimilation system of fir-trees showed a fairly large quantity of zinc and lead. The analyses of the nutrient contents showed the correlation between increment index and some nutrients and toxically active elements
