On the evolution of agricultural soil pollution in Romania

Studies of agricultural soil pollution in Romania were conducted. On the basis of soil quality monitoring data, the authors reviwed the present state of agricultural soil fertility, emphasizing the main limitations and potential hazards. A special attention is paid to soil pollution with pesticides, heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn etc.), fluorine, oil, etc., as well as to radioactive pollution. Aspects on prevention and control of soil pollution are also presented
