This is a study of the difference between the wear of standard and self-sharpening plough-shares, and the consequences of working with dull plough-shares on plough resistance, working speed, efficiency and fuel consumption. It has been established that standard plough-shares, without hard metals, in sandy soils, become so dull, after only 7-8 hours of actual work, their use is no longer justified, while the efficiency of self-sharpening, welded on plough-shares is quite good.
