Grain loss and damage are primary indicators in assessing the quality of corn combines during harvest. Taking into consideration the losses (1,18%), combine Z-161 achieved satisfactory efficiency. Total average losses for combine Z-141 came to 4,72%, which exceeds the limit of tolerance. These losses were caused by sloped ground and an unadjusted combine. The following losses have been taken into consideration: losses of free grains on a header, grains from cobs dropped from the header during harvest, grains from cobs which have not been torn off, on the header, grains from unselled cobs, grains on the thresher and of damaged grains.
