Value of soybean proteins in diets of growing and fattening pigs depending of variety and method of treatment

The obtained results showed that the tested soybean varieties differ mostly in their protein and oil content. Soybean grits produced in Yugoslavia contained less crude protein in comparison with the imported standard soybean grits. Tripsin inhibitor content in raw grain amounted to 3,200 T.I.U./g and there was no difference between the varieties. The nutritional value of the tested soybean varieties did not substantially differ when fed the pigs. Raw grain is not suitable for feeding because of its high content of inhibitory substances. Compared to soybean grits, growth was reduced and feed conversion was lower. The tested, locally manufactured grits, provided reduced growth and lower feed conversion in comparison with imported grits.
