Effect of number of eyes in a seed and depth of planting on the yield of turmeric [in Bangladesh]

An experiment was carried out to determine the number of eyes in a seed and depth of planting on the yield of turmeric. Three different seed sizes containing one, two and three eyes in a seed and three different depth of planting with 3 cm, 6 cm and 9 cm were compared. Highest yield (18.0 t/ha) was found from seed containing two eyes but no significant difference on yield was obtained from depth of planting.
